We will not pay a kobo of our foreign reserves to import food or fertilizer – President Buhari Says

President Buhari Being the recent president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria stated that the Central Bank of Nigeria should not offer the foreign exchange to anyone importing food or fertilizer into the country.

He made this statement in the previous news on the Remarks at the National Food Security Council (NFSC) Meeting, September 10, 2020. Where he talked about agriculture and also posted this in his social media.

He said;

I am restating it that nobody importing food or fertilizer should be given foreign exchange from the Central Bank. We will not pay a kobo of our foreign reserves to import food or fertilizer. We will instead empower local farmers and producers.

We have a lot of able-bodied young people willing to work, and agriculture is the answer.
